Theater usher
Angelika Film Center and Landmark's Inwood Theater and Magnolia Pictures - Dallas' three theaters for independent films, art flicks, gay cinema, and NC-17-rated releases. The Angelika is at 5321 East Mockingbird Lane in Mockingbird Station and has discount-pass books available. Magnolia Pictures is at 3699 McKinney Avenue in the West Village Shopping Complex. The Inwood is on 5458 West Lovers Lane, one-half block east of Inwood Road.
Hockey player
Dallas Stars - Hockey at its best at the American Airlines Center! Check out this site to see details on team members, buy tickets, view scores, and get free Stars stuff for your computer.
Treasure map
GuideLive and MapQuest - Two helpful resources for those in Dallas or those who plan to visit: GuideLive is a huge directory of metroplex restaurants and clubs (with reviews of most) plus a calendar of upcoming concerts and other events. And, if you need to know how to get to your evening's destination, MapQuest can provide you with detailed driving directions so you won't get lost.
Couple embracing
New Fine Arts East, New Fine Arts Northeast, and New Fine Arts West - Three of Dallas' adult video stores with magazines and supplies for those intimate times together. Open 24 hours, seven days a week. Locations are at 1720 West Mockingbird Lane, a few blocks east of I-35; at 12045 Shiloh Road, near East Northwest Highway at I-635; and at 1966 West Northwest Highway, a few blocks west of I-35. Minimum age: 18.
Movie clapboard
Premiere Video - My fave local video store at 5400 East Mockingbird Lane (one block east of Central Expressway), they have a large selection of unrated films, foreign films, old movies, plus things from every other genre. Open 'til 10 p.m.
roller coaster
Six Flags Over Texas - Huge amusement park in Arlington, Texas (20 minutes west of Dallas) with terrific roller coasters, tons of other rides, musical shows, and tacky knickknacks. They also own a water park next door called Hurricane Harbor.
