Dallas Voice and TXT Newsmagazine - The Voice offers gay-related news stories covering the metroplex, as well as state and national gay issues, while TXT Newsmagazine (formerly The Texas Triangle) focuses on Dallas, Austin, Houston, and other parts of the state. Free at Borders, gay-themed stores, and selected other bookstores.

Directions to Boyztown - From I-35, take exit 430A (nearly downtown) to Oak Lawn Avenue; stay on Oak Lawn Avenue for one mile; turn left onto Cedar Springs Road. To get there from Central Expressway (US-75), turn west onto Lemmon Avenue, travel about a mile and go left onto Oak Lawn Avenue; a few blocks later, turn right onto Cedar Springs Road. To get there from LBJ Freeway (I-635), exit onto the South Tollway, go eight miles South to Wycliffe Avenue exit and turn left under the bridge; travel a few blocks and turn right onto Cedar Springs Road. Park free on the streets, or various businesses offer use of their lots for about $5. Park in well-lit locations and lock your stuff in the trunk.

J.R.'s Bar & Grill - Popular bar with balcony that's open-air when it's nice outside and enclosed when it's not. Also has shows or special events some nights. The Round-Up - Tho' I'm not a big Country & Western fan, this is a great place to hang out and relax or two-step if you know how, although it can be very crowded. Less attitude here. Karaoke on Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday; dance lessons early on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. No cover; mostly late 20's & up. At 3912 Cedar Springs Road. Open Monday-Friday from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Saturday-Sunday from noon to 2 a.m. Minimum age: 21. Picked as Best All-Around Bar by Dallas Voice in 2008.
